Elizabeth Merkle + baby Griffin // a cozy motherhood session
5.22.17
"The natural state of motherhood is unselfishness. When you become a mother you are no longer the center of your own universe."
Hi!
Yes - a couple mondays have passed since my last blog post! (Haha) But here I am.
It has been a crazy couple of weeks.
If you are reading this post, I must warn you: you are about to witness photos of a goddess.
Her name is Liz Merkle and she is stunning. She has recently become a mother of a baby boy named Griffin. What a precious gift!
While taking photos of her and her baby boy I witnessed pure selflessness - There is nothing like the love of a mother. She is strong and she is a beautiful soul - I hope you appreciate these photos as much as I do!
Cheers!

Equinox Dance Company @ Jack B Kussmaul Theater // #SupportLocal

Honestly.. I feel like my words will take away from the power of these women - I am sitting here anxiously deciding what to say.
I have never seen so much passion and boldness in one sitting - these ladies have talent!
Located in Frederick, Maryland, EDC is the only modern dance company in the area - a group of dedicated team members interested in continuing to dance for life - and you can truly see it on their faces!
They have created a community to expand modern dance as an art form - each member also serving as a choreographer - finding new ways to challenge each other and define dance in the modern world - they are inspirational to say the least!
If this is the first time you are hearing of them, I am honored to be the one to introduce them to you!
And like I said before - my words can do them no justice.
Cheers to Equinox Dance Company!
Capistrano Barbershop + the groomsmen: A Wedding @ the Capital of Maryland, Annapolis
4.17.17
Annapolis, MD.
Wow.. and I mean WOW.
It's not often that I go to the capitol of my home state, Maryland.. and what a gorgeous experience it was!
The air was crisp and salty as I walked the paved streets that ran alongside the Chesapeake Bay. Boats bobbing back and forth - local coffee shops on every corner - I couldn't get enough. (Caffeine that is.)
Every wedding I have shot so far has been unique in it's own way - it's part of what makes my job so fun - but, as of now this wedding steals the cake.
Not only did it give me an excuse to wander the streets of my state's capitol - but it provided me an opportunity to take photos in an old fashioned Barbershop - YES, they still exist!
"Remember the old-time barber shop that dad took you to when you were a kid? Every man remembers his first trip to the barber with his dad or grandpa. The red and white pole outside, the big leather chairs, and maybe even a phone book to sit on... Capistrano Barbershop, the Old-Fashioned Barber Shop, is owned and operated by Faraj Capistrano, a Master Barber from Nazareth, providing old world flavor and service of days gone by."
Each groomsman was offered an ice cold beer to sip as they leaned back in their reclining chair, getting trimmed for the event that was soon to take place - They had to look their best to celebrate LOVE!
Every moment of the day carried on to be fantastic.
The Bride: stunning. The food: amazing. The music? poppin.
But, thank God for Capistrano Barbershop for keeping the men looking dapper, or as Andre 3000 would call it, "So fresh and so clean, clean."
Detox to Retox :: Yoga w. Morgan Dorsey @ Mccklintock Distilling, Downtown Frederick, MD
4.10.17
Today I decided to wake up a bit earlier than usual... OK, a lot earlier than usual... to take a yoga class I had been hearing about through the Downtown Frederick grapevine.
It sparked my interest not only because it took place at McCklintock Distilling, a local Distillery downtown, BUT it held a $5 liquor tasting after! Now, that's my kinda yoga.
Not to mention... the strong and beautifully bold Morgan Dorsey, whom I had the pleasure of working with @ The Wine Kitchen on the Creek, was teaching. I had to be there!
PHEW! This woman does not mess around. If you're looking for some heart pounding strengthening yoga - topped off with a delicious spirit tasting - I've found the one for you! (The Forager Gin.... mmmm!) You won't be disappointed.
Fierce!
